Volcanic Lines research group members will be attending the following reading group and we'd encourage anyone else to do so as well. The 'call' for the group is as follows:
London-based research students will hold a reading group on Spinoza's Ethics and selected correspondence, starting 6pm Tuesday 18th May and continuing for approximately 8 weeks.
The reading for first session will be Ethics Book I (up to Proposition 16) and Letter 12.
Samuel Shirley's useful introduction to Spinoza's terminology can be found in the Translator's Preface of the Hackett edition.
We'll meet weekly, 6 - 7:30pm, in the restaurant area of the British Library.
